Creating a Community Where the Arts and People Unite

HOW WE GOT STARTED

Founded in 1974, the Coffee County Arts Alliance (CCAA) started when 22 art enthusiasts gathered in Enterprise, Alabama, to establish an Art Council for the Wiregrass area.

Board members—comprised of musicians, educators, writers, civic leaders and art lovers—had one clear mission: to bring the magic of visual and performing arts to the community. More than that, they desired to inspire people of all ages to explore their own creativity amongst a thriving arts scene.

CCAA’s debut season kicked off February 5, 1975, with a captivating performance by pianist Leonidas Lipovetsky, who performed at 14 schools in just three days.

Today, CCAA keeps its legacy alive with four annual theatrical performances and the beloved Piney Woods Arts Festival, which brings together art, crafts and entertainment.

PRIORTIZING ART EDUCATION AND SCHOOL PERFORMANCES

From the beginning, Coffee County Arts Alliance wanted to create a place where students can experience the magic of performing arts—inspiring them to think creatively, connect with the world in meaningful ways, and shape a more well-rounded, innovative future generation.

That’s why we team up with organizations, like Birmingham Children’s Theatre, to offer students unique opportunities to learn and be inspired.

ENRICHING THE WIREGRASS COMMUNITY THROUGH VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS FOR THE PAST 50 YEARS

As it stands, the Coffee County Arts Alliance is not just a testament to the transformative power of arts but also a beacon of community spirit and collaboration. Celebrating 50 golden years, the CCAA’s journey is a poignant reminder of what passion, commitment, and unity can achieve.
